![]() I was going to use this to plan out my next power plant of 96 coal generators powered via singular pure oil node with 20 refineries making Heavy Oil Residue, but due to the lack of selection tool, and special markings this is seemingly impossible with what is currently available in this tool. Also why isn't there the option to rotate buildings as we place them, ie placing a massive amount of refineries sideways from the placement section, or rotate the view of everything? Even in 80 or 160 degree angles?Īnother three things I want to highly suggest:ġ Let us control C or control V buildings onto the grid, it would make say.placing sets of 20 refineries (which are needed for many instances of overclocked oil extractors and mk 2 pipes).Ģ Let us color or have special markings on buildings, this would help people note which building has to be/will be underclocked according to the plans laid out by the Satisfactory Calculator.ģ A selection tool, like the kind used in Microsoft Paint, that not only lets us move or delete those we select, but shows the number of buildings selected, as numbers separate from power poles etc. I have a bit of feedback.what the hell are "R.B.", "RWE", "ISC", "Me", "Pr", "Sm", Sp", and "POS"? There's nothing to indicate what they are. It'll get there, and I agree belts could be more intuitive. Regarding clicking from one port to the other and editing after, it's a bit more work, currently the belt is a visual element and isn't interactable, hence the control nodes so actually detecting "clicking" on a belt isn't currently part of the tool. So for now they are more simplistic, but going beyond that is certainly in the plans. For development it was easier to break the task down into smaller more manageable chunks, hence the conveyor button and belts being completely separate. The original belts I implemented in the tool did link to the building ports, and the code to achieve this is still around so I can re-implement it. If I recall, I made the layering of the buildings related to their placement on the vertical axis, I'll look into easier selection of the building you want when they overlap. Recipe and clock speed is in the roadmap! Multi select is on the list for sure, it's a bit more time consuming to implement than other things, but I agree with you, things can be a chore without it. Discord is the main place I'm taking suggestions, bug reports and displaying the roadmap, so feel free to drop by. As I said, it's in development so there are missing graphics here and there and you might encounter a bug (hopefully not!), but I think I'm at a stage where it's getting more functional and stable. It started off as a small drag and drop program of simple blocks, but now includes an import export system to share designs, pipe & belt systems, and a full menu system (scope creep is a wonderful thing). Īs a lover of Satisfactory and being fond of perfectly aligned factories, I was getting tired of using graph paper, google sheets, or other drawing programs, so I decided to build my own tool as a bit of development practice. How do I set a default drawing setting for new drawings to be placed onto a layout? That is, before they have even be placed I want a default in place that is automatically applied. For a while now I've been working on SaLT (Satisfactory Layout Tool), it's still in development, but feel free to check it out at or join the discord at. Is there a way to set up hotspots so that I can drag drawings onto the same position on each layout each time? Just wondering what other peoples method is.Īnd why my drawinsg seem to ingore the cells on the master teplate when dragged over? I have taken to drawing lines outside of the master template to use as a guide so that drawings are consistentley in the same position on each layout. For each and every drawing!Įven when I have cells setup on the master template, the drawings seem to ignore the cells completly and land where ever I click on the layout. ![]() The basic problem I have is that when I drag a drawing on to a layout I have to spend time placing it in the correct centred position, resizing, moving the title header into correct position etc. so I am finally asking what other ppl do and what is the best practice method. ![]() So, all of these years I have never found a satisfactory way to to place drawings on layouts.
