![]() 83.1% of people never beat normal mode and this game has been out since 2016. This game is already way to hard already. BERSERK! is similar in this fashion, albeit a little more difficult to nullify. You are spot on about Inventive and Nuturing being lackluster when you have something similar and better with almost zero downsides once you know how to work it. ![]() Having it there for people who want/need it is fine. i'm gonna call myself out for being a bit salty but still bad idea.Īnother thing to keep in mind: Not everyone who bought the game has even played the game! You can look at Global Achievements for many games and see that a large percentage of people have not obtained common achievements, like "Die for the first time" or "Beat Chapter 1" or something like this Left 4 Dead 2 achievement that happens somewhat naturally during play.Īnyway, there is no reason to nerf Civilized. without civilized that number would be closer to 96%.This is a really bad Idea. Other than Oregon Trail's zombie cousin "Organ Trail", there's not really a game similar to Death Road to Canada that came before it. The reason why the normal mode achievement has a low percentage rate is because DRTC has a steep learning curve due to how different it is from traditional roguelites. The game DOES have a balance issue, but it's not as bad as you make it out to be. You can beat normal mode with two support characters just fine. Normal mode doesn't have high build reliance, you can beat normal mode and other easy modes with mediocre perks and traits. I watched gameplay of DRTC, and even though I didn't use very good perks and traits, I still knew how to beat the run. When I played the game for the first time, I was able to beat my first run first try, without using Civilized. ![]() If your game is way too hard, putting an overpowered perk/trait/weapon/item in the game is not a valid solution. That's why I made my Perk & Trait guide, so that players know what to use and they can learn how to use them.Ĭivilized does make the game easier if used correctly (but again, it takes a bit of time to master Morale Management) but if it truly made that big of a difference in the normal mode achievement percentage rate, then the game has a huge balance issue. A lot of players steer away from Civilized because of the morale penalty, and they tend to use poorer combos and never learn how to use good ones. A lot of players never beat normal mode *because* they don't know what perks and traits are good and how to utilize them. i'm gonna call myself out for being a bit salty but still bad idea.
